Want to know the telltale sign for wedding photographers that it’s going to be a good day? When we show up and hair and makeup is already done. And on May 11, not only was it done, but it was WAY ahead of schedule, and the good vibes just kept on rolling from there.

Our time with the new Mr. & Mrs. Hodges at the Biltwell in Indianapolis, Indiana started off with a gift for Ben, stunning getting ready portraits from a robe made from Abby’s moms dress, and the most immaculate details.

From the most intimate, emotional first looks with Ben & her dad, to sweet family moments with the grandparents, the time spent before their ceremony was full of handkerchiefs wiping tears and laughter filling the stunning brick interior of the Biltwell. 

After a stunning ceremony, Abby & Ben practiced their first dance while taking in the epic room flip done by Hannah & her team with Design the Day Events, then the party REALLY started. Parent dances that had the whole room weepy, a private dinner in the grooms suite so they could have some alone time before the craziness of the night, couples portraits on the patio that were the epitome of Golden Hour - the night was the perfect celebration of their love, their people, and their future together. 

Right before we left, Abby & Ben escaped the dance floor to have some cigars and party with their friends in the beautiful early summer air, and we had a BLAST documenting not only how the day looked, but how that moment felt. We even handed over our cameras to the newlyweds and let them capture each other - their first handmade family heirloom of the rest of their lives.
