Home Video Style Videography
Story time with the langs:
When we were kids, ours parents had a whole cabinet dedicated to VHS tapes. Yours probably did too: opening presents on Christmas morning, building snowmen in the backyard, blowing out birthday candles. You'd feed the tape into the VCR and let them roll. Clip after clip after clip.
They were never cinematic masterpieces. Of course not. But they're real. They're authentic.
Through those videos, we can hear the voices of our now passed grandparents. We get to see how our moms behaved when they were our age. Those videos transport us right back into those moments. Not just visually. It's a full sensory experience.
If you aren't lucky enough to have this experience of watching old home videos, think of Clark Griswold locked in his attic in Christmas Vacation. Sure, it's cheesy, but words can't quite describe the emotional weight old home videos carry.
The funny thing is, Kayla cut her teeth in the wedding industry with videography, focusing on this kind of raw, emotional storytelling, but as the industry started moving in a more cinematic direction, she decided to shift focus to photography.
When we got married, we knew we wanted our wedding video to feel like these home videos: raw, gritty, emotional, authentic. But after seeing so many videos that felt more like advertisements for wedding venues than honest recaps of real wedding days we decided to do it ourselves.
And when our DMs exploded with questions about who did our wedding video, we figured we weren't the only ones looking for something like this, so we decided to offer it to you. It's not for everyone. But the ones who get it, get it. But if you don't, (and that's totally ok), and you'd prefer a more cinematic wedding video, we'd love to point you in the direction of some absolutely brilliant videographers who do that kind of work.
Here's our wedding video
the one that started this whole thing
Every single clip from your day included on a VHS style link
Yep. You read that right. We want you to be able to hear your grandma's voice and the stupid things we said to make you laugh during portraits. That's why every single wedding video we offer comes with a complimentary VHS style online link of all of the raw clips from your day back to back to back. It's just like rewinding and fastforwarding with the remote but like...so much easier.
