A Wedding Straight Out Of The Shire
Kayla and I are Camp people. We met at Camp. We cut our teeth photographing Camp. It’s an integral part of our story and our life, so when Alexis and Jeremy called and said they were getting married at Jameson Camp down in Indy, we JUMPED at the chance to reconnect with that part of our story, and put it to use in capturing their love story.
And boy did it come in handy, and not necessarily in the way you might think. One of the most important (and undiscussed) job responsibilities of the Camp director is playing the resident meteorologist. Is it going to rain? If so, how much, and for how long? Is it accompanied by lightning? How do we keep the guest safe while still making sure they still have a great time?
As we made our way down to Jameson Camp, Kayla shrieked when she saw how the trees near Eagle Creek had gone bright red and fiery orange. It was a crisp 60 degrees with a slight breeze. It felt like fall for the first time. But on the other side of the coin, the radar promised thunderstorms, but we weren’t sure how much, or for how long.
So we did the Camp thing: We showed up with a mountain of excitement knowing that flexibility and agility were going to be key to making sure Alexis and Jeremy had a great day.
