Wow, have we been excited for this wedding. 

Excited, and unprepared. Because in Kayla’s eyes, Alyx is still eight years old, riding her bike up and down her street with her chipmunk cheeks, and eight year olds with chipmunk cheeks don’t get married. Marriage is for grown ups.

Yet there we were, watching Andrew and Alyx exchange wedding vows amidst the swirling snow on a frosty February day. 

In the middle of the falling snow, The Conservatory at Evergreen felt more like the ice palace from Frozen than it did a greenhouse.

When the Bannon girls got back from their graduation trip to Mexico, and then I saw that Alyx was in OKLAHOMA (?!), I was skeptical. “Trust me, it’s fine, we like him!” I wasn’t convinced. Because let me tell you how they met.

Just kidding, that would be a novel. TL;DR version? Boy sees girl in a bikini in Mexico. Boy tells mom he’s going to marry her daughter one day. Quite literally after taking his first look at her. Then boy fake proposes after knowing her for about 4 seconds. Then a year later (to the day) boy proposes where they had their first Indiana date. It’s like, annoyingly cute, right? Right. So, sure, he’ll do for our Peanut. And then some.

Hometown weddings are a BEAST (especially when my parents are guests). They’re equal parts incredibly fun, incredibly special, and incredibly…stressful, lol. Because I’m trying to catch up with people who have known me forever while also DOING MY JOB so just a big shoutout to my husbabe and our incredible best girl Ireland for doing so much so that I could take pretty pictures yes, but also soak up the day as a guest with my home team.
