Haley & Taylor’s Beach Elopement at Sandals Royal Caribbean in Jamaica
Montego Bay | Jamaica
a week long Beach vacation. an over-the-water bungalow. Butler service. does it get any better?
Haley & Taylor had known for a while that they wanted to elope. Taylor, preferring to stay out of the limelight wanted time with his bride all to himself. So instead of throwing a big party where all eyes would be on him, they spent their wedding budget on a stunningly gorgeous over-the-water bungalow at Sandals Montego Bay in Jamaica and spent lazy days lounging by the pool and the beach with unlimited fruity drinks and delicious food without having to worry about anybody else.
In the days before the ceremony, Haley and Taylor spent their days relaxing in a private cabana on the beach, sipping drinks at the pool bar, and laying out on the deck of their private cabana with stunning ocean views.
After a day in the sun, Haley woke up early to prepare for her wedding day. Sandals had a separate room set for her and the stylists and makeup artists at Sandals took care of her. A beautiful, simple dress and bare feet completed the beach-ready ensemble.
While Haley got ready in a private room with Kayla and the Sandals team, Mike hung out with Taylor as he got ready in the Cabana. Taylor's unconventional trick to wedding ready hair? Run some pomade through it while it's damp. Put the hat on backwards and let it set for a bit while you finish a drink. Then take the hat off and run your hand through it. A crisp white shirt and a pair of Khakis completed the wedding ensemble.
Out of the multiple options, Haley picked a beautiful arbor overlooking the ocean as the spot for their wedding ceremony. With the wind blowing Haley's veil this way and that, they said their vows in a speedy, private ceremony.
After the ceremony, Haley and Taylor signed their marriage license. The Sandals staff served hors d'oeuvres, provided a small cake to cut, and the two shared a first dance on the beach.
Taylor hates pictures, although you wouldn't know it by looking through these. (He's a freaking champ). We made him a promise that we wouldn't take long and that he'd get plenty of breaks. So we took our first 5-minute photo session under the arbor before they ate dinner and cake.
A boat takes guests from the main resort area of Royal Carribean to an island that houses the over-the-water cabanas and the private beach. After dinner, with full bellies and the sun dipping below the horizon, we boarded the boat and headed to their private retreat for sunset photos.
Back at the Cabana, we watched the sunset over the ocean, popped champagne, and took a few photos of Haley & Taylor enjoying their room before leaving them alone for the night.
We knew we wanted to do cute in-water shots the day after the wedding, so we met Haley and Taylor by the beach mid-morning before we had to fly out (for our own wedding!). We spent about 20 minutes in the water as they played and splashed and got all snuggly.
After 3 wonderfully relaxing beach days, we packed our bags and left Haley & Taylor to enjoy the rest of their vacation. A huge thanks to the Sandals team for the hospitality, and a huge thank you to Haley & Taylor for inviting us along for their wedding!
