who needs boho when you can have barbie?
For months Jetta & Judd had envisioned a boho themed wedding for their big day. You know the drill: heavy on the neturals, lace and wicker accents, ethereal wedding dress. The whole bit.
But something wasn’t sitting right. The vision in her head wasn’t her own. It was an accumulation of elements from weddings for other people. She wanted something different. Something her own. Something fun. Think bright pink details, disco balls, 70s typography, smiley faces, pink heart sunglasses, eclectic bridesmaids dresses, magazine covers, a khaki glen check suit with a pale pink tie for Judd.
And a few weeks before the wedding of all things, what should drop? The Barbie Movie, of course. We have the receipts. This vision was all her own. But the movie theme certainly helped guests get into the spirit of the party, and that just made it more fun for everybody.
We pulled into Dappled Willow in Darlington, Indiana and headed to the gorgeous white farmhouse where the gals were getting ready. We went up the wooden stairs and into the master suite where we found all nine of Jetta’s bridesmaids sporting the same pink pajamas and fuzzy pink smiley face slippers. (So many people that we love at this wedding!) I started gathering the details while Mike took a few dress pics before heading out to the barn to document the reception space.
