Meg & Jon’s Saugatuck Michigan Engagement Session at Oval Beach and Hutchins Lake

A Michigan Lakeside engagement session that feels like home
For decades, Meg’s family has called Saugatuck, Michigan home. With a beautiful house right on Hutchins Lake, we wanted to celebrate their engagement in a way that paid homage to their family and history.
Meg and Jon wanted pictures on the family boat, the same boat Meg rode around Hutchins Lake on as a little girl. We popped champagne, Meg and Jon donned the captain's hat, and at the end, Meg got a little carried away.
Down the road from their house, there's a beautiful wildflower field that butts up to a forest. We stopped by for some pictures while their dog Mila ran through the wildflowers. It's unclear who was happier: Mike and his edge of the forest light or Mila in the tall grass.
After frolicking in the flowers, we jumped in the car and drove to Oval Beach on Lake Michigan. Despite it being the middle of August, the water temperature was a brisk 48 degrees. It felt like ice water, but that didn't stop them from splashing around.
We can't wait to celebrate Meg and Jon's wedding day in Saugatuck, Michigan in 2023!
