A Banger at the Conservatory at Evergreen
Allllll Sam wanted for her engagement photos was pretty spring flowers. First engagement shoot date? Freezing cold, no flowers. First reschedule? Raining. Second reschedule? 90% chance of rain, even though it never did.
Third time around, we had an elopement in Indianapolis earlier in the day, and it had been beautiful all day long. We were supposed to meet them at 7:30pm. 6:30pm rolls around and Kayla looked to the sky and…rain rapidly approaching. *Kayla calls Sam* “How fast can you be ready? And are you up for shooting in the rain?”
We got all of the nice formal dress shots in, and right when we finished up, it started POURING. We ran to their house, got them changed, and went back out. And they danced, and drank Gumballhead, and rolled around in the grass in absolute pouring rain, and made absolutely dope photos together.
All of that to say, while we loved their rainy day engagement session, we were all very excited to see clear skies and gorgeous October weather for their wedding at the Conservatory at Evergreen.
We get asked about the Conservatory at Evergreen A LOT. It’s a drop dead gorgeous greenhouse style venue right on Eagle Creek in Indianapolis. It’s a blank glass canvas with polished concrete floors and a porch that runs the entire length of the venue and overlooks a pond surrounded by trees. (Fun fact, our assistant Alyx is getting married there in February and was geeking out the whole time about all the little details). It’s one of the last Indiana venues that we’ve been itching to shoot at, and it did NOT disappoint. Let’s get into it.
