Let's Frollick in the Flowers!
What’s more romantic than getting married on a flower farm? How about frolicking amongst the same flowers that you learned to grow and care for as your first job? How about relishing in a shared family history on that farm that spans nearly 40 years?
Because that’s what Sarah and Aaron did. They got married on a private flower farm where Sarah got her first taste of employment. As a teenager she rode up and down the rows, growing and caring for the same flowers we’d take pictures in on her wedding day.
Beautiful florals are one of my favorite parts of a wedding day. From a selfish photography perspective, they’re just fun to photograph. They add depth, and dimension, and color, and in the case of bouquets, give the gals something to do with their hands.
But man oh man is it even more fun when there's more to the story than just fitting the aesthetic. The use of the farm for their wedding was a gift, a very special gift. But it was more than that. Sarah asked Karen, the farm’s owner, and the artist behind the day’s florals, to surprise her with the floral design. Sarah had no idea what the flowers were actually gonna look like. It was just another instance of love and trust and generosity on a day chock full of celebrating that kind of love and trust between family and friends who might as well be family.
Let’s get into it.
